If you often feel you worked hard all day but didn’t check off anything on your list, these four keys to productivity will leave you feeling focused and accomplished.
The 4 Keys to Productivity
1// Plan the night before.
If your mornings tend to be hectic, set aside a few minutes in the evening to create the next day’s to-do list.
And, by writing your list night before, you’ll save precious morning time.
2// Have a list of top three priorities.
Your list of top three priorities are the items that will make your day productive and successful.
These important tasks are the ones that move you toward your goals.
To foster momentum and progress on your goals, work on one of your top priorities first thing in the morning.
3// Estimate time for all other tasks.
After you’ve decided upon your top three priorities, estimate the required time for all other tasks.
For example, a 30-minute doctor’s appointment plus travel time requires an hour and a half.
4// Schedule breaks.
We often believe there’s no time for breaks when we’re overloaded with work.
But, research shows we can’t concentrate for long periods because our brains eventually tire.
Stepping away from work to do something active, like take a walk, replenishes energy, improves self-control and focus.
